My experience when I first learned english
Hello
everyone. Let me introduce myself; my name is Dhea Aprilia. You can call me
Dhea. I was born in Malang on April 2nd 1999. I’m 19 years old. I’m
a Moslem. I live with both of my parents in Tangerang for 7 years. For 12 years
before I lived with my grandparents in Malang, East Java.
In this writing, I want to share my
experience on how I learned English. English is one of those lessons that can
be difficult but also easy enough to study. Because actually I don’t really
like this subject. My experience in this subject is not that interesting to
tell because for me English is in a mediocre position; not too fun but not that
boring either.
The first time I was introduced to
English was in Kindergarten. Because I lived in Java I felt like this is a
really foreign language to me. Maybe it’s like what I used to say in my
childhood – that English is something that I definitely cannot learn. Why?
Because every word sounds weird and I haven’t heard any of them before. At the
beginning of my studies I have difficulties pronouncing the words. Because I am
used to speaking Javanese, when speaking English it sounded weird since I
sounded like speaking English with a Javanese accent. You can imagine yourself
how I sounded like.
When I graduated grade school I
moved to Tangerang and continued my education here. At junior high it wasn’t
that hard for me to learn English like the first time I learned it. Because of
the environment and social circles here, it is easier for me to pronounce and
understand the words. Because nearly everyday I often hear some vocabularies in
English, I started to understand them.
Continuing to high school. During
this time I feel like English as a subject is always difficult for me to handle
because of all the works I had was hard for me. I always asked a friend for
help in doing it. In high school for the first 2 years I liked this subject
because my English teacher was kind and clear when giving out lessons, but
during the 3rd year I really hate this subject because it almost
seems like the teacher can’t teach properly. Everytime the teacher explained
the lesson I found it hard to understand it because of the difference in
teaching methods with my previous teacher. It’s very annoying especially when
learning something we don’t find likable.
Time passed by and now my high
school years are over, and now I am continuing my education in Gunadarma
University bachelor’s degree in management. My experiences in English is bland,
but I hope that my current professor can teach English in a fun, relaxing way
that I can easily understand it and helped me to pass in every test.
This is my story – what’s yours?
Thank you.
Oke, It's good
